Scooters, it should be noted are still motorcycles and require a motorcycle license to ride. They have a smaller engine and a lack of gear shifting and they have been around in most other countries for decades. In past five years U.S. scooter sales have skyrocketed and as gas prices climb the trend doesn’t seem likely to curb anytime soon.
